"I confirmed that Northern Cafe has taken over the old Big Catch space in Brentwood and is already up and running. This marks the third outlet for the San Gabriel Valley–based Chinese restaurant: their first Westside foray was in Westwood, where UCLA’s large Chinese-American student population helped them find a footing, followed by a Beverly Boulevard location aimed at Beverly Center shoppers and nearby office and hospital workers. The Brentwood spot occupies a narrow, long slot right on Wilshire Boulevard’s busy corridor, and I see Northern Cafe’s jump west as part of a broader trend of Chinese restaurants expanding into West LA (Sichuan Impression, for example, has also announced a new West LA location)." - Farley Elliott
