"In Dorchester's Savin Hill neighborhood, a brand-new taqueria and tequila bar opened on October 1 called Ghost Pepper, created by the owners of Savin Bar and Kitchen and occupying the space adjacent to that longtime neighborhood spot. The menu features various tacos and small plates — fried plantains, papas bravas, empanadas, and pupusas — and entrees such as skirt steak with cilantro chimichurri, pan-roasted chicken in adobo sauce, and crispy pork belly with a tamarind glaze; desserts include churros, tres leches cake, flan, and sorbet. To drink there are nine beers on draft (several brewed locally), bottled beers, red and white wine, cocktails, and an extensive tequila list, plus mocktails including one made with passionfruit, pineapple, elderflower, and Red Bull. The space seats about 100, features 15-foot ceilings, a U-shaped bar, and an interior with pops of color, elements of natural wood, and concrete; Ghost Pepper is initially open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and noon to 10 p.m. on weekends with plans to extend hours soon, and its hours and menu are limited for the first few days as the team gets fully up and running ahead of a larger grand opening." - Terrence Doyle
