"I'm reporting that True Food Kitchen’s New Orleans location opens today on the retail floor of The Julia in the Warehouse District. The Oprah Winfrey–backed, Dr. Andrew Weil–created chain (Winfrey is an investor and sits on the board) has 28 locations in 12 states and emphasizes ingredient-led, health-conscious menus with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options; many dishes are anchored in Mediterranean and Asian flavors but the focus is on healthy, seasonal, sustainable, and organic ingredients aligned with the anti-inflammatory diet. The new spot at 801 St. Charles Avenue serves lunch and dinner daily (11 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday–Thursday; until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday) and opens at 10 a.m. for weekend brunch, and presents itself as a chef-driven restaurant with a scratch bar, seasonal creative dishes, and handcrafted cocktails with a healthy twist." - Clair Lorell
