"I visited the new Mahony’s Po-Boys French Quarter location at 3454 Magazine Street, which opened earlier this week after the brand—now in its tenth year on Magazine Street—announced an expansion in April. The menu pairs chef-inspired po boys with an elevated, decidedly playful (and much bigger) selection, including a Simpsons-inspired crawfish almondine—fried crawfish tails in a butter-brandy sauce with sliced almonds and green onions—alongside a pimento cheese-spiked Caprese salad and an ice cream sandwich made out of bread pudding. Casey Levy, the brand’s culinary director, calls the new site “the playpen,” a space to experiment with new ideas and to test potential future locations. The newest Mahony’s is serving lunch and dinner everyday, with brunch to come." - Alison Baitz
