San Francisco Restaurant and Bar Cha Cha Cha to Close After 25 Years in the Mission | Eater SF

"A Mission District destination known for sangria and shrimp in spicy sauce, Cha Cha Cha announced on June 28 via Instagram that it would pour its final drinks on July 1, closing the original Mission Street location after 25 years; no reason was given. Owner Irfan Yalcin later told the San Francisco Business Times he now plans to keep the business open until July 3 for what he called “a more proper farewell,” and he also shared that he sold the restaurant and bar to new owners, including retired tax auditor Mario West. The departure has left a loving community in its wake: a local food blogger recalled hosting a high school graduation there and enjoying the sangria, and a longtime Mission District teacher said she is devastated but plans one final visit on June 30." - Paolo Bicchieri
