"I watched a nearly four-minute Facebook video released by the folks behind Tapeo and Mesón that parodies the Quebec government’s daily press briefings, with co-owner Victor Afonso cast as the “minister of all affairs,” co-owner Sébastien Muniz as “national director of logistical health,” and chef Marie-Fleur St-Pierre as the “minister of the health of sherry and recipes.” They borrow the press-conference format to count shrimp and paella sold and cases of potatoes lost, include the exchange where St-Pierre says, “But what you are saying isn’t clear,” and Muniz smiles to the camera and replies, “I know.” Afonso told Eater the video was meant to reflect the nightmare they’re living, protest the current measures, show that closing dining rooms can’t kill their creativity, and bring some laughter during the holidays." - Valerie Silva
