"La Jolla’s 84-year-old gem, the Marine Room is famous for its front-and-center view of high tides crashing against its windows. Couples looking to make a splash can count on the restaurant’s new executive chef Ananda Bareño (formerly Alila Marea Beach Resort) to serve up her latest creations — Tasmanian ocean trout with coconut salsa macha and cassis chayote; rose snapper with piperade and garden sorrel sauce; and Japanese A5 wagyu strip steak with onion brûlé and potato pavé. Festive pre-dinner hors d’oeuvres range from beef or bluefin tuna tartare to lamb lollipops and mini crab cakes. Up to 230 guests can attend an oceanfront soiree hosted here and may even book a stay at the restaurant’s sister property up the road called the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club." - Roxana Becerril
