"I report that Lengua Madre — the acclaimed modern Mexican tasting-menu restaurant opened by Ana Castro and owner Michael Stoltzfus in 2021 — will close on December 31, 2023, bringing an end to Castro and Stoltzfus’s seven-year working relationship. Located at 1245 Constance Street, the restaurant earned notable recognition: it was a semifinalist for Best New Restaurant in the 2022 James Beard Awards and was named Eater New Orleans’s fine dining restaurant of the year in 2021; Castro herself has been a James Beard finalist (rising star chef in 2018 and Best Chef: South in 2023)." - Clair Lorell
