"Named for the plant explorer who helped introduce many tropical fruits to the region, this garden hosts an annual Mango Festival each July; this year the celebration runs July 12 and 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., allowing festivalgoers to "taste their way through hundreds of mango varieties, local chefs’ mango creations, and mango drinks" while also appreciating the garden's role in the region's fruit history. The culinary lineup includes big names such as Cindy Hutson (of Zest at the Cliff), Aaron Brooks (of Sunny’s), and Jose Medin (of Pubbelly Sushi), and ticketing ranges from general admission to a full brunch experience with tastings that include craft beer, cocktail flights, and mango smoothies." - Allison Ramirez
