"Founded by chef Phillip Frankland Lee and professional skateboarder Neen Williams, the Austin-born mini-chain takes its name from Williams’s spice rub company — NADC stands for Not a Damn Chance. The New York location (25 Cleveland Place, between Kenmare and Spring Streets) offers a single burger option: two wagyu beef patties, American cheese, a sauce, onions, pickles, and jalapeños. The rest of the menu includes fries (with an option to add diced jalapeños, pickles, and steak spices, aka Beast Mode-style) and vanilla milkshakes (which are only served at this location). The space features murals by local artist Jappy Agoncillo. After debuting in Austin inside a bar and moving into its own physical restaurant space in 2023, the casual burger spot expanded into Chicago, Denver, and Fort Worth; this is their first East Coast location. “New York City has always been our goal,” Lee says via a rep. Lee is also known for his omakase and Japanese restaurants (his national Sushi by Scratch omakase expanded into New York City last fall). Both restaurants are opening in the city on Friday, May 16." - Nadia Chaudhury
