"After Chef Robert Teddy updated his shop's Summerlin arrival date, I can now get a preliminary taste twice a week in Spring Valley. Wicked Donuts is billed as a “dangerously delicious gourmet doughnut concept” and is promising a winter 2019 debut inside a 2,622-square-foot former Jack in the Box at 9490 W. Lake Mead Blvd., styled with a retro rockabilly coffee bar and a menu free of “blasphemous preservatives or artificial colors.” The house specialty is a “heavenly hybrid of classic buttery French brioche and the traditional American fluffy donut.” Teddy, a former Halloween Wars contestant and previous operator of La Sugarie at the Venetian, currently sells select wares Fridays and Saturdays at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (4165 Grand Canyon Rd.), where recent offerings have included a $2.75 double chocolate, a $2.50 purple pumpkin, and small, keto-friendly mini cinnamon sugar bites for 75 cents each; customers can place orders for a dozen or more during the week for weekend pickup." - Bradley Martin
