"To do it right, I first order something warm from Equator Coffees’ historic Roundhouse Cafe at the southern end of the bridge (operated by Equator since 2021) — a sunny-day rarity that never gets too busy, though it isn’t quiet when the weather is good. I’ll opt for one of the shop’s rotating seasonal drinks for something fun or, if I’m a purist, a top-tier espresso paired with a croissant. I feel good about the purchase: Equator was the first woman-owned, queer-owned coffee company in California to achieve B Corps status, and the brand’s commitment to the Bay remains strong after reopening its SoMa location in October 2023. The cafe’s entrance literally connects to the walking path across the bridge; it’s open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday–Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday–Sunday." - Paolo Bicchieri
