The First Annual Tamale Festival Debuts This Saturday - Eater New Orleans

"The New Orleans Tamale Festival lands at Poor Boys Bar in St. Bernard on January 6 from noon to 6:30 p.m. Celebrating the Delta-style tamale, expect red chili pork tamales, vegan black bean and corn tamales, version, chicken tamales, cheese tamales, and a tamale filled with chocolate and strawberries. Live music, crowning of the Tamale King and Queen, and a tamale-eating contest. No cost to enter, but donations will be accepted." - Stephanie Carter
