"I've watched Tatte Bakery & Cafe expand rapidly across Boston and Cambridge: founder Tzurit Or began by selling baked goods at farmers markets and opened the first Brookline brick-and-mortar in 2007, and the brand has since grown to eight existing bakeries that are notoriously packed—especially Fridays through Sundays when it runs all-day brunch. Recent rollouts include the Fenway bakery (opened last October), Back Bay (January), a nearly 4,000-square-foot Seaport location planned, and a Northeastern spot slated for 360 Huntington Ave; an eleventh location is set to open late October at 125 Summer St. In 2016 Panera acquired just over a 50 percent stake (which was later purchased by former Panera CEO Ron Shaich), and those ownership shifts have continued to help fuel Tatte’s expansion. The menu features multiple kinds of shakshuka, tartines, and breakfast sandwiches, plus pristine pastries such as fruit tarts, muffins, and croissants; the menu shifts with the seasons, and coffee, teas, and juices are always available." - Dana Hatic
