"I watched Andrew Coe of Northeast Portland’s Elevator Coffee take first place in the Roasters Championship this year; Coe, who co-owns Elevator Coffee, used last year’s fifth-place finish to inform his winning approach and even overcame muted taste and smell from a lingering cold during the competition. He received several pounds of the beans used for the competition and hopes to offer a limited-edition version of his championship roast soon; Elevator Coffee’s beans can also be enjoyed at Lionheart Coffee in Beaverton, the Hinterland food pod, and other locations in Oregon and California. Coe will go on to compete at the Roasters World Championships in Taipei in November and said it’s especially meaningful because his dad is from Taiwan and he plans to bring him as translator and guide." - Nathan Williams
