"Perched 16 stories above the corner of Terry Avenue North and Thomas Street in South Lake Union, I found Altitude Sky Lounge's new rooftop bar (which began serving drinks and small bites on September 7) features an open deck with cushioned armchairs surrounding gas firepits and stools facing the rooftop edges—one looking west toward the Space Needle and the other south toward a wall of downtown skyscrapers. Even the interior offers stunning views: nearly all-glass walls swing open on sunny days so patrons can take in the skyline while sitting at the bar, standing around a couple of counters, or relaxing in a long, couch-like booth. The food menu focuses on small bites to accompany drinks, including several sizes of charcuterie boards, Marcona almonds and crispy chickpeas, and dips such as golden beet and dill, albacore tuna dip, pork and carrot rillette, and duck liver mousse. The bar pours several local beers on draft, a couple of glass-pours each of red, white, rosé and champagne, and a cocktail list (for example, the La Brujeria made with Mezcal, lime, basil, blackberry and ginger beer), with cocktails running between $15 and $20." - Jade Yamazaki Stewart
