"The Manhattan neighborhood of East Village is getting a new taproom and micro-brewery from the Bronx Brewery. The bar, which also houses a smash burger operation, opens at 64 Second Avenue, between Third and Fourth streets. It features a U-shaped bar, 14 beers on tap including pale ales and IPAs done in various styles, and a refrigerator stocked with cans to-go. In the back, a small brewing operation with stainless steel beer kettles produces experimental, limited-release beers. Smash burgers from Bastard Burgers, a Swedish chain, are available alongside sides like fries and onion rings. The entire menu can be made vegan." - Luke Fortney
