"The Manhattan neighborhood of East Village is getting a new taproom and micro-brewery from the Bronx Brewery. The bar, which also houses a smash burger operation, opens at 64 Second Avenue, between Third and Fourth streets. It features a U-shaped bar, 14 beers on tap including pale ales and IPAs done in various styles, and a refrigerator stocked with cans to-go. In the back, a small brewing operation with stainless steel beer kettles produces experimental, limited-release beers. Smash burgers from Bastard Burgers, a Swedish chain, are available alongside sides like fries and onion rings. The entire menu can be made vegan." - Luke Fortney

Went here for a burger and fries and Bronx Brewery did not disappoint. The guy behind the counter was very nice and helpful. Gave us some suggestions and answered all of our questions. I tried La Cubanita burger because of the sweet plantains and it was amazing! The loaded fries had a little kick and were delicious! Do wish the serving had more fries. Would still go back to try some of the other burgers. Glad to have them in Manhattan!

So happy they're now in the city.. I love Bronx brewery! Their beers are excellent, and the service is always great - although during my last visit the bartender said they'd get me a new beer (since their wobbly table spilled half my beer) but never did. The burger place is waaay overpriced (around $25+ for a small burger and small fries). I mean they're tasty, but just extremely small..esp for the $15-20 price - think the size of a single patty shake shack burger, and about 10 fries. Will be back for beer, but definitely not getting food here again.

Great new addition to the neighborhood!! Stopped by with some friends and had a great time. You order at the bar and get your beers on the spot. For food, you get a text when it’s ready.Pay attention to your phone as it’s ready pretty quick! That other reviewer probably was not paying attention to their phone, as I don’t see how it would have gotten cold, our food was under warmers when we went to grab it. The space is well designed with murals and graffiti, the downstairs space is dope and they even have a cool merchandise setup. All in all the beer was nice and cold, music was great and and the food tasty! Ps. Try the mozz sticks :).

Great place with an awesome atmosphere and some really nice people working there. They let us in early so we could get out of the pouring rain and didn't hesitate to serve. The beer we tried was fantastic and I would definitely love to go back if I'm ever in the area again.

Fresh beer in a chill environment, the fries were really good too, highly recommend if you are looking for a drink without the pressure of the bar scene.

SerpAPI
Super cool brewery with punk industrial vibes. They serve amazing burgers and the beers pair wonderfully. Would recommend the loaded fries (double to share with friends) and London burger if you love truffle. Service was quick even though it was opening weekend. They'll send you a text when your order is ready. Perfect place to hang out with friends. There's lots of seating for everyone!

I wandered into this bar/restaurant just before 6pm April 2. I'd just had an awful day and was looking for a burger and a hard cider. I got so much more. The doorman was charming and funny with a great vibe- he really set the tone before I even walked in the door. I regret not getting her name, but the blonde young lady tending bar was an absolute sweetheart! She had such great energy, helped me pick out a (delicious) burger with fries and dip, and was absolutely great all around. I left full and happy just before the Saturday night crowd started filling up the place. The food is really good, the decor is pretty cool, but I really wanted to publicly compliment your staff. Everyone was great and turned my evening around. I'll definitely be back

Yelp
Service very friendly and reliable. Liked the scenery. The food are a decent price hopefully the food is good. Great place to drink and eat at definitely come back more.

Yelp
THIS PLACE!! (Review based on atmosphere and Bastard Burger fries) I go to a lot of breweries and this one is BY FAR my favorite! I am not a beer drinker but my husband is. This place is me! The graffiti (heart), the turntable table (amazing), the tagged up bathroom... I loved it all! AND LET'S TALK ABOUT THE DJ playing some amazing beats on an early Saturday afternoon! The doors were open, we were feasting on loaded fries. Make that crinkle fries (heart again!) Plenty of cheese and when they call it loaded, it was loaded. I want to be sitting at that table outside again with my family jamming out in the nice weather... As we were leaving... they were super nice and gave us some beer can stickers for an art project I am working on and a guy said- do you want me to sign that? He was the artist who designed the can art! Of course you can sign! That was pretty cool. (Note to BB: you need to sell stickers and I would love to see some graffiti in your merch to represent)

Yelp
I came here the last day of LGBT Pride Month after marching and after failing to beat the rain to roam around the Pride fest street fair. I needed a place to sit and cool off. There were no specials so after perusing the beer list, I ordered the Well-earned Pilsner. That was an apt name after all that waiting and marching in the march. I paid and once it was front of me, I took a sip. Refreshing and ice cold, which was a welcome change from the hot day. I stayed for 2 more rounds. The bartender was professional and courteous.

Maddie M.

Yelp
Have been here multiple times for celebrations over the past year- always a great spot! Lots of seating and fast service. Burgers are sooo good and comparable to some of the best smashburgers in the city!

Chris J.

Yelp
Excellent burger! So is the beer! Had Lil' Bastard and a pumpkin beer! Hope to be back soon!

Angelo E.

Yelp
Love Bronx brewery,. Their beer election caters to all palates. Just solid good beer

Broc P.

Yelp
Wonderful place and great service :) Walked down here and they were a great pit stop for our evening. Awesome vegan options.

Julia E.

Yelp
Such a good atmosphere, games all around and fun music. There's a cute outdoor area too and lots of beer to choose from.

Brandon M.

Yelp
The bar tender was super friendly and attentiv. Burgers were great along with the cauliflower bites. Pumpkin beer was fantasti.

Sharisse B.

Yelp
I visited the Bronx location. This was my first time at the East Village location. When you walk in there is a very big bar in the middle of the venue. There are seats lined around the wall and near the entrance. The tables appear to have stickers on them as a decorative design.. They have some board games, you have to ask for the board pieces if you want to play. The lower mezzanine level right off the main level has a few steps and has a good amount of seats. On the basement level they have the open air kitchen, merchandise for sale, beer to go fridge, restrooms, and two classic video game systems. Mortal Kombat II and Street Fighter II. Both games were free to play. I played Mortal Kombat, it took me back to my teenage years at the game room. I ordered the Bastard burger and sweet potato fries. The fries came out before the burger. The fries and burger were good. I tried the truffle dip and aioli dip, they were both delicious. I had a beer flight. This location sells beer only. I would definitely visit again.

Kalvin K.

Yelp
Decent brewery in the area between st marks and les. The music is pumping here and the beers are decent. Service was friendly with the bartender providing samples. Good vibes, easy in and out.

Alexander R.

Yelp
A great little spot for a cold beer. The Bronx Beer Brewery makes some great beer! They opened a couple of spots in the city and I happened upon this one upon leaving the Beetle House and decided to go in for a beer. The service was so good and the vibe of the place was so friendly and welcoming that we stayed there through at least 3 beers. The whole area was jumping with people all over the streets and restaurants full to capacity. I hadn't been downtown for a while but now I've been down there two times in a week and I plan to go back more often because I enjoy going places that welcome all people.

Andres P.

Yelp
Their bastard burger is one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Juicy filling and delicious. Great crunchy fried to combo. The service is amazing, got my beer and food incredibly fast. The ambiance was great as well with a great DJ and large TVS for a sports game.

JT S.

Yelp
I like the place. Accessible, friendly. Cool vibe. Lots of beers to choose from, but (like all other reviews I post about beer): never enough pilsners and kolschs. It was winter, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Taylor Z.

Yelp
Really great beer bar with some nice seating in the back. Love all the arcade games and switch they had setup. It's a great place to chill.

Connor M.

Yelp
Great spot to spend an afternoon. Good drinks and a friendly staff. Would come again.

Jacob S.

Yelp
Went to this location with my dad and my sister. Loved the beer, the experience was great!

Yelp
Got the street burger and a flight with our choices of beers. Along with a side of loaded fries. I told our bartender, Matt, what kind of beers I like and he picked out 4 selections which were all fabulous. Lions lager, Pilsner, heavy is the crown, and the Hudson cider. Right on point. Nothing I didn't like. Some really interesting flavor notes, and nuances. Totally nailed what I would like. Burger: Street burger. Delicious. I'm not a fan of raw onions, but everything was so well balanced that no one flavor overwhelmed the burger. Onions, pickles. Cheese. Juicy but not greasy. Delicious. But the real star of the show were the loaded fries. The Ziggy fries, zigzag or crinkle cut, topped with 1000 island-like dressing, yellow, onions, fresh jalapeños, melted cheese sauce, and delicious bacon. Wow! Perfectly balanced. Perfectly delicious. Just scrumptious. I would definitely go back!

Joel G.

Yelp
Holy wow!!! "No matter what happens in life, be good to people. Being good to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind." There's an even better Taylor out there... and she is the bartender at Bronx Brewery LES.

Whitney D.

Yelp
I came here for an event that foodie card was having. They were having a special 6.00 burger with a flight of three beers. I really liked the vibe of this bronx brewery location. Two levels so more seating and the music was fantastic! I was told by a friend the burgers are awesome so I obviously tried it and it did not disappoint. I will most def be back here. The Bartenders were very nice too.

Kelly D.

Yelp
OMG - This place is great! I checked it out a couple of weeks ago for brunch on a Saturday. Got a flight of beer and a bastard burger. The burger was so yummy and they had lots of options to choose from. All burgers are thin smash burgers, which happen to be my fav kind. The fries are great as well - perfectly crisp, warm and tasty. I'm not big into craft beers, but I enjoyed the ones I sampled (if only I wrote down the names...) Anyways - if you're in the village looking for a beer, burger or both you can't go wrong with this place. Decent sized patio out front, large dining area indoors and a large bar. Bartender was friendly too.

William K.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere and great beer!! Bartenders are super friendly. Has an amazing food menu as well

David A.

Yelp
Came here for a Foodie Card happy hour yesterday. Got to meet the Foodie staff and they gave you a free beer sampler and $6 Bastard burger with an app purchase. Burgers were smashed and had a nice crunchy char. Condiments were perfectly mixed. Crinkle fries tasted freshly made. Got three beers in the sampler. The stout and the lambic was my favorite. I gave my wife the hoppy beer. Staff was super friendly and attentive. They told us about the history of the brewery and how they're expanding to Hudson Yards soon to open their third location. The bartender also told us about all the beers on tap. Vegans, Hindus, and vegetarians: every burger on the menu can be made vegan using Beyond meat. Unsure if they use a separate grill. IE half the burger menu is vegan! They have an uncovered outdoor area with two picnic tables. All orders are at the bar, but they'll come to you with them and bus you. Ambiance: indoors is larger than you think she has multiple restrooms. Really enjoyed the experience and my wife loves the beer. I loved the food and staff interaction. Not loud unlike many other Manhattan bars on a Friday, roomy and bright.

Veronica H.

Yelp
My boyfriend came here for the beer, I came here for the burger. It was a win win! We came on a Friday night at 8pm, so dinner prime time, we were able to sit without a wait and the burgers came fast. Nomz: I had the Stockholm burger and it was fantastic. Every bite was super flavorful and had a nice juiciness to it. The fries were also delicious. I'm the kind of person that always needs help finishing my fries but here I was left wanting more. Drinks: Obvi good if you love craft beer, I don't love craft beer so I get pilsners and they went nicely with my burger. Service: Friendly bartender, we ordered food/drink at the bar and picked up food downstairs when they let us know it was ready. Ambiance: Super chill vibes, neighborhood bar feel. Nope or Dope: Dope, easy place to have a tasty dinner and beer, will go back for sure!

Chuck L.

Yelp
Without a doubt the BEST vegan burgers in NYC. The service was GREAT and the Marg was delicious! Highly recommend this place.

Josh F.

Yelp
A large group shows up on recurring weekdays after an adult rec league and Ian always makes us feel comfortable while ensuring a great time is had by all. Reasonable prices, good sound on the jukebox, highly recommended.

Nick D.

Yelp
Great venue and great beer. The space is a perfect spot for a stop in hangout or sports. The beer is Bronx Brewing...that stands strong on its own. Bartender is very friendly and overall great experience.

Daniel M.

Yelp
Burger was very good, classic smash burger. The bartender was awesome and they have games to play!

Rolanda B.

Yelp
Had an ahh-amazing burger and fries from this brewery! The burger was bursting with flavor, fries were perfectly seasoned, and the jalapeño agave aioli, was delicious. I know this is a brewery but the food really stole the show for me! Excited to go back and grab another burger I also tried a variety of beers. I love that this brewery also does a five ounce size as well as a larger size. This allows you to try lots of different things without committing to one type. That's great for me as someone who is still trying to figure out what beers they like. I wish the brewery up in the Bronx had these burgers too. But I will definitely be back to have a burger and a few beers soon

Paul M.

Yelp
Great service, great drinks! Also really convenient to order food from your phone while you're seated

Stephanie D.

Yelp
So glad to see the Bronx Brewery expanding! I just came here for beer and didn't try the food but the service and ambiance was great! The bartender was super friendly and the space is pretty large. Definitely a great casual place to catch up with friends or for large groups.

Paul C.

Yelp
Crazy good bar food, generous portions, great burgers. Plenty of beers to choose from, too may IPA's as always. If you want a few beers with a mate, share the loaded tots, you will never eat them all yourself. Friendly bar staff and a EV atmosphere make it a solid spot.

Troy T.

Yelp
Beer was delicious and service was friendly. Taylor was a great bartender. Location was close to central manhattan.

Teddy D.

Yelp
Love coming here. Great drinks, great food. JD, the bartender, was especially kind and helpful.

Tori A.

Yelp
Let me start off, the service was great! Super friendly. Prices are good I mostly have qualms with the ordering system. We all got the double Yankee, super confusing how the customizations are like "no Mayo" "no ketchup" etc. but it doesn't automatically come with that stuff, and there's no option to even add ketchup Mayo mustard? All 4 of us got the double Yankee and all agreed it was dry AF, super disappointing. Even just the patties were dry and crispy, better off going to 7th street or smashed. I ordered mozzarella sticks and the marinara was $2 extra, annoying. I also disliked how all the sauces are made with vegan Mayo tastes like straight soybean oil. Loaded fries look great but soooo bland

Jason Z.

Yelp
Luke's amazing. here for trivia always. Had a phenomenal time with great people and great beers

Thom E.

Yelp
Great bar, great trivia, a happy place to a get drink after a long day, and for a decent price! Luke, one of the few bartenders in this city that knows how to use the tap.

Ryan F.

Yelp
Watched some football while enjoying beers at Bronx Brewery East Village & Bastard Burgers on Saturday afternoon. My biggest issue was the change in atmosphere about halfway through our visit, where suddenly all the tables were reserved and it felt like everyone who had been watching football was slowly being led out. Not sure if it was a one-time deal, but not something I expect at a brewery. Quality: Tried a few selections from the beer list, but I did not have any food. I tried Knock On Wood, I Am A Golden Belgian God, Now Youse Can't Leave, No Solutions, and World Gone Crazy. An IPA heavy menu, but I found the non-IPAs were significantly better. I Am A Golden Belgian God, a small batch beer made in the back was a stand-out. It was a bit sweet, but that seemed to smooth out the flavor. Quantity: Pour sizes clearly delineated on the sign. Value: $7-$9 for a Draft Beer. Ambiance: Bronx Brewery East Village & Bastard Burgers is a great collaboration idea in the East Village. The space they share is quite large with a front bar area with multiple tables and bar seating and a large space in the back with additional seating. Several televisions can be found in both areas and hip-hop classics played during our visit. However, at some point, staff started throwing reserved signs on tables, and the vibes seemed to change from relaxed to very awkward. I got the sense a private party may be happening, but we were not the only guests that felt caught off guard and uncomfortable with the situation. Not really what I expected or wanted from an afternoon brewery visit. Crowd: A small crowd on Saturday afternoon. Some folks looking to enjoy football, others seeking a meal. Service: The bartender was amazing, incredibly friendly and knowledgable. Parking: Limited street parking in the area.

Melanie C.

Yelp
Awesome new location of the Bronx brewery in the heart of the East Village! Have been to the Bronx location of the Bronx brewery and was excited to see a taproom had opened in Manhattan! This location has tons of indoor seating and a super laid back, relaxed vibe. There's a lot of beers on tap and they also sell burgers (which I haven't tried). Service is super friendly! While this definitely isn't the same as heading to the original brewery, it's a nice option when you don't want to make the trip all the way to the Bronx

Kristi S.

Yelp
The East Village has really changed, and not for the better. We were hoping for an easy-going bar with decent food and good craft beer. Especially as the reviews were great. But this is just an expensive McDonald's with loud music and alcohol. Don't be fooled, most of the craft beers come in cans, not draft. What was worse, though, was that the waitress tried to charge us for three beers when we had only had two. When I pointed this out, she still charged me for a more expensive beer than the ones we had, even though I specifically said which ones we'd had. This was not a late night, either, maybe 9 p.m., and the bar wasn't crowded. I love Bronx Brewery beers, but this place is just a tourist trap. And I'm not even a tourist. I will never go back.

Chris B.

Yelp
Solid spot to grab some delicious Bronx brewery beers and have a snack. Definitely more of a bar than a restaurant. There are no waiters so you order your food through the bartender and pick up at a window in the basement. Burgers were good but slightly over cooked. The stars here are definitely the variety of bronx beers on tap and available for takeaway.

Gorrion n.

Yelp
Locally brewed beer of MANY varieties. Smashed smash burgers with tons of sauces also good on their fries. Extensive vegan, vegetarian menu. Two other locations as well; Hudson yards and the Bronx. Free video games. Different special event nights include a gamer night hooking your console into big screens, and trivia night. The staff is knowledgeable and charming. The horseshoe bar is very conducive to mingling. Intimate space in back and a sunken separate space big enough for a big party. Happy hour and Monday deal.

Reggie S.

Yelp
Amazing place and great vibes. Highly recommend! Beers are top notch, if you're an appreciative of good craft beer.

Naiomi S.

Yelp
Been here a few times and great service and food each time. One of the best burgers I've had to be honestly. Great selection of craft beer as well. Highly recommend.

Gabriel G.

Yelp
Wow in room place nice and love ipa beer it tasty so great I will pull friends to come here and encourage to come in bar this so amazing

Lauren C.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE this place! I'd been a fan of Bronx Brewery beer for awhile but never had the chance to visit the mothership in the Bronx. Since this spot in the East Village opened, I've become a regular. They have an excellent list of rotating draft beers that includes many IPAs as well as a few European-style beers and some off-the-wall concoctions with fruit flavors. Their food is provided by Bastard Burgers, a Swedish burger company. The ENTIRE burger menu can be made vegan which is incredible! They use Beyond patties and a variety of incredibly convincing kinds of vegan cheese, vegan bacon, etc. All delicious. Don't miss the loaded fries, either. They also have a great rewards program. Basically, there's no reason not to come here all the time like I do!

Victoria N.

Yelp
Zah & Taylor were so helpful when picking a drink, I don't love beer so he was able to help me pick another drink that wasnt a beer. He recommended the mezcal seltzer which was soo good for anyone who doesnt love beer!!

Ryan L.

Yelp
Zah and Taylor hooked it up. Gave a great recommendation for the lager, were both very attentive especially for such a large selection. I am a local and definitely will be back.

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
Great beer selection, burgers, and surprisingly good canned wine! Highly recommend as a casual drink spot or for casual lunch / dinner
