"The Freeze’s revival will also include the ninth Small Cheval at 2815 W. Armitage Avenue, bringing the mini-chain that grew out of long lines at Au Cheval to the Logan Square site. Small Cheval serves a similar burger to Au Cheval along with fries and milkshakes, and the planned design echoes the retro Small Cheval look found in Wicker Park, Wrigleyville, and Fulton Market, including string lights, wooden benches, planters and a pickup window. Small Cheval is a collaboration between Hogsalt and Four Corners—the latter has ties to developer Sterling Bay—and the project fits with Hogsalt and Sodikoff’s interest in rehabilitating neighborhood spaces.
