"Far east Austin gets a new brewery with Southern Heights Brewery, which is now pouring drafts from its taproom. It’s found in the MLK-183 area at 6014 Techni Center Drive. Southern Heights offers eight beers on tap, like Where’s My Flannel, a pub ale that can also be found at places around the city like WhichCraft and Alamo Drafthouse. The brewery also features food trucks, though the only one named is Los Angeles export Pranom Pop-Up, which serves Thai street food (Pranom is making two Saturday stops at Southern Heights this month). The brewery is an expansive 7500 square feet and is dog-friendly, with plans for an outdoor patio. Southern Heights is owned by Austin Russell and Chris Rich. Neighboring breweries include Hi Sign Brewing, Live Oak Brewing Company, and Friends & Allies Brewing. Southern Heights is open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays, noon to 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and noon to 7 p.m. on Sundays." - Erin Russell
