"Located in a snug space adjoining a smog inspection station, Mississippi Catfish might be the best Southern-style fish fry spot in the East Bay. The catfish and butterflied shrimp are both fried with lightest and crispest of cornmeal batters, courtesy of owner Thomas Wright, and the small, oniony, Mississippi-style hushpuppies are worth a trip all on their own.
