"Part caff and part Caribbean restaurant, Bumbuu is the kind of place we could imagine spending a lot of time in if we lived within walking distance. It’s a hop and a skip away from Willesden Junction, and what this Caribbean spot lacks in formality (don’t expect to see anyone behind the counter and Cash In The Attic may well be playing in the background), it makes up for layered Caribbean flavours. You could come here for a fry-up or a sandwich, but you shouldn’t. Everything is cooked to order by Bumbuu’s solo chef so if someone else is there, you may have a little wait. It’s worth it, though. The jerk chicken is of the saucy variety—cleavered into chunks and slathered in a fruity, briefly incandescent sauce of gently cooked scotch bonnets. It doesn’t have the char of the grill, but it has plenty of flavour—and the same goes for the curry goat. photo credit: Jake Missing photo credit: Jake Missing" - Jake Missing
