"Las Almas Rotas is one of the best agave bars in the country. Instead of mass-produced liquors and celebrity brands, they stock small-batch mezcals, tequilas, and other Mexican spirits, like bacanora and raicilla. Good for them, and good for you—becauase that means flights you won’t find at other bars, including pechuga mezcals (distilled with raw poultry), or uncertified spirits that don’t fall into any recognizable category. If you’d rather have cocktails, let the liquor shine in a classic margarita or paloma. When you get hungry, order a couple carne asada tacos and a bowl of just-spicy-enough pozole rojo." - Kevin Gray
