"Brown Sugar Kitchen is open for lunch and dinner, but our favorite meal at this Southern restaurant in Uptown Oakland is weekend brunch - especially when we want to spend quality time with people (and foods) that we like. Everyone else in this place seems to have the same idea - and a craving for flaky biscuits, buttermilk fried chicken, and incredibly light cornmeal waffles - so prepare for crowds and a wait.
