Banh Mi Crunch

"Competition on Irving St. is tough—the density of great restaurants in the Inner Sunset is hard to beat. So when a new place comes in and it’s constantly packed, you know it’s a good sign. Banh Mi Crunch, a small counter-service Vietnamese sandwich shop, is exactly that kind of place. They’ve got eight different bánh mi and each make for the perfect lunch pick-me-up—and you’re gonna want to take them to the park because they only have a few seats that tend to fill up quickly. Each sandwich is packed with the requisite pickled daikon, carrot, cilantro, cucumber, and jalapeño, all on a bread that’s crunchy on the outside while being delightfully soft on the inside. If you’re having a tougher time picking a filling than choosing which light jacket to wear, we like the juicy grilled pork and crispy lemongrass beef the best. While the bánh mi is the main reason you’re here, don't overlook the massive combo garlic noodle plates. For about $13, they provide enough food to power anyone through a long hike in the park (or just a long day at your desk).  " - Ricky Rodriguez
