Brasa Bros serves satisfying, fast-casual Peruvian chicken - Review - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The team behind Limón has opened Brasa Bros in the Mission. Just like Limón, you’re here for Peruvian rotisserie chicken, but this younger sibling has ditched the sit-down format for something fast-casual. Order on a tablet, find a seat, and let chicken in your preferred form come to you on a tray (or if you opt for the 15-tender combo, a bucket). The titular pollo a la brasa arrives glossy-skinned and the meat pulls right off the bone, but the tenders should also be a contender for your main—they’re plump, crispy, and ideal for dunking in aji amarillo, the spicy Pica Loco, or the slightly sweet Brasa Bliss sauce. This place works well for a low-effort weeknight dinner with kids in tow, or a pre-picnic haul if you need chicken tenders en masse. video credit: Julia Chen photo credit: Brasa Bros Pause Unmute Food Rundown Clásico Brasa We like this slow-roasted chicken with dark meat—it’s tender, and the skin delivers a salty-fatty punch. Order it with caramelized plantains on the side. PlayMute video credit: Julia Chen Tenders The tenders are a hit. They’re juicy, make an audible crunch, and pair well with the Brasa Bliss sauce (or any of the sauces, for that matter). You can order these as a two- or three-piece combo, or by the bucket. PlayMute video credit: Julia Chen Crispy Sandwich An airbrushed bun, fried chicken, and the requisite slaw and pickles. We wish there was a bit more sauce, but it’s still satisfying. PlayMute video credit: Julia Chen Fries How much you like these depends on how you feel about In-N-Out fries—they’re just like them, but thicker. Bros Garden Chicken Add a chopped-up piece of fried chicken to any salad and it’s better, we don’t make the rules. The romaine, tomatoes, and roasted corn are just fine, but if you insist on having greens today, this will do the trick. PlayMute video credit: Julia Chen" - Julia Chen
