"Take the aesthetic of CGBG and Starlight Express, smush them together, and you’ll end up with Night On Earth. Located along Cahuenga Pass, this strip mall cocktail spot comes from the Thunderbolt people and features a glowing neon blue bar, curvy leather banquettes, and grungy band posters on the wall. There’s a retro vending machine with snacks, and the electronica is turned up even at 6pm on a Wednesday. The campy, in-your-face energy aligns perfectly with the kitschy cocktails given futuristic makeovers—think sour appletinis tinged with smoked apple, or clarified and carbonated Oaxacan rum zombies. Our early favorite is the funky-fresh Earthling Standard, a gimlet riff made with concentrated cilantro and a distilled sunchoke and honey spirit." - Brant Cox
