Bayan Ko Diner

Diner · Ravenswood

@infatuation

"Like its sister restaurant Bayan Ko, this Ravenswood spot serves great Filipino and Cuban food—just with a whole lot more eggs. They have tasty traditional dishes, like longanisa garlic rice plates and flaky empanadas, plus twists on American breakfast classics, like a sisig hash with juicy chunks of pork and potatoes. As expected from a city that loves eating eggs on Saturdays and Sundays, Bayan Ko Diner’s space full of paintings of the Philippines and Cuba gets very busy on the weekends. But it's a bit more relaxed midweek, so it's easy to walk in on a Wednesday and get their breakfast burrito full of saucy ropa vieja." - sam faye, adrian kane, john ringor, veda kilaru

Spiaggia

Italian restaurant · Gold Coast

"We’ve made the difficult decision not to re-open Spiaggia and Café Spiaggia. We were very much looking forward to welcoming back our family and guests. Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in our efforts to restructure our lease, which was necessary to reflect the realities of operating a restaurant in an office building, post-pandemic. It’s been an incredible journey, and we are beyond proud of, and grateful for, 37 remarkable years. From the moment we envisioned the restaurants, our passion has been to elevate fine dining Italian cuisine. The endless number of special occasions, the most passionate staff and the amazing talent still delighting guests around the country, will remind us that Spiaggia and Café Spiaggia will live forever."
