"Picture it: You’re wandering Hudson with a temporary to mid-range lover, and, with some amount of violence, your body tells you it’s time to use the bathroom. Oh god, you think, it’s not happening at the Airbnb. Oh GOD, you think, it’s not happening in the boutique that sells “objects.” That’s when you see Nolita’s shining on Warren Street. The straightforward shop has functional plumbing (around the side and through a residential hallway) and get-the-job-done cafe offerings, but Nolita’s best qualities are the sweet people who work here and their underadvertised Filipino halo halo. The memory of fruit, ube ice cream, jellies, and sweet beans will last much longer than your current romance with the “let’s go Upstate” suitor." - Hannah Albertine
