"Is it possible to scientifically prove that something is delicious? Apparently not, but you can eat Middle Eastern food that was both conceived by a food scientist (turned restaurateur), and is also delicious, at Lashevet. This charming little spot changes its menu from cafe fare during the day to a full dinner service at night with influences from Israeli, Lebanese, and Moroccan cuisine. Omnivores pay special attention—while there’s meat all over the menu at night, the daytime menu is fully vegetarian with things like an avocado toast on pita and fresh, colorful mezze. We love stumbling upon this spot just when we’d forgotten about it and having a spontaneous cup of Turkish coffee under their kaleidoscopic Moroccan lamps." - Neha Talreja
