"There are buffets that involve tin foil trays and back gardens, and then there are fancy buffets that could feed a 200-strong platoon. Royal Nawaab specialises in the latter. The entrance hallway at this Pakistani spot has a shimmering, multi-tiered chandelier, a golden water feature, and enough men in black suits to make you wonder if Taylor Swift is going to be gracing Perivale with her presence. Big families and groups of friends make up the numbers in the carpeted dining room—some in ties, some in tracksuits, all treating the 90-minute time limit like a personal challenge. Arm yourself with a pair of tongs and explore the rows of silver cloches and various stations—curries, salads, chutneys, desserts.
