Fanny's - Review - Mid-City - Los Angeles - The Infatuation
"Fanny’s feels like the kind of place where entertainment lawyers eat steak and complain about their clients. It also happens to be the restaurant and cafe at the Academy Museum in Miracle Mile. This two-story spot is full of clamshell booths, waiters in fitted blazers, and blocks of French cheese that ride around the dining room on a rolling cart. But much like the Recording Academy, this prestigious establishment usually misses the mark. If you’re already at the museum and in need of a convenient lunch option, drop by Fanny’s for a breakfast burrito or a club sandwich. But if you’re looking for a special occasion dinner spot that’ll make you feel inspired, keep looking. From a monotone ceasar salad to a dramatic tomahawk steak carved tableside, dinner here is very underwhelming. The only thing more disappointing than the food is the lonely DJ spinning vinyl records in a massive space that remains almost entirely empty after 8pm. That said, the cocktails are great and the glamorous dining room works well for a last-minute drink date in the area." - Nikko Duren
