"Whispers At Oak Street Beach is a bar and restaurant on the stretch of sand where Lake Shore Drive curves and the Gold Coast gives way to Streeterville. That location is a pretty fantastic backdrop for drinking mojitos and frozen pina coladas without getting sand in your shorts like a plebian: you’re just a few feet away from the water while the LSD skyline towers above. Everything else—from the OK cocktails, to the clubby soundtrack, to the mediocre beach food like tacos filled with salty carne asada cosplaying as ground beef or flavorless tuna tartare that’s mostly chunks of cucumber and avocado—is there in case you get bored of taking selfies with Lake Michigan. photo credit: Veda Kilaru" - Veda Kilaru
