Bar Oliver - Review - Two Bridges - New York - The Infatuation

"When you see a wheel-sized tortilla española land at the end of the stainless steel bar, that’s an invitation. Bar Oliver in Two Bridges is, technically, a great place to drink and merge with a crowd that drifted south from Dimes Square, but if you aren’t also grabbing a bite here, you’re doing it wrong. Think San Sebastian with a touch of Madrid. The Basque-style spot, from the owner of Casino and the team behind Doubles in Amagansett, is equipped with wine, pintxos, and vermouth on tap. In the narrow room with flea market light fixtures and a 10-foot painting from Julian Schnabel, you can loiter with a glass of Rioja, claim a stool and dig into a chunky slice of tortilla, or even have a full dinner. photo credit: Bryan Kim There are a few tables along the wall you can book in advance, and, for now, there are a couple of entrees supplementing the snacks. The crisped-up wagyu hanger is our top pick, but don’t ignore the specials, like thick-cut bonito in escabeche so rare it melts into the surrounding onions and olive oil." - Bryan Kim
