"You might be aware of the Chubby empire throughChubby Cattle, an upscale yakiniku chain with a wagyu membership program called the “Chubby Club.” Much like superhero shows, there are also a growing number of Chubby spin-offs as well, including Chubby Curry. The menu is built around Japanese curry, a homey dish that’s less flashy than wagyu, but we’d argue, more satisfying. The curry here is excellent—so rich and silky that you could sip on it like beef-flavored eggnog. And true to the Chubby brand, luxe touches show up as well, with options to add buttery marbled beef or roasted duck as a topping. Mostly though, Chubby Curry is a good “casual for Beverly Hills” option that works for a filling lunch or a weeknight dinner, particularly when sliding up to the bar for a plate of curry with a little extra polish sounds comforting." - Cathy Park
