"From £89.70 (lunch) and £125 (dinner) per person Sometimes big-spend omakase experiences feel like your teenage trips to the library—silence, a certain degree of side-eye over your ratty trainers, and worrying you’re going to get told off for checking your phone. Not at Cubé. It's an easygoing spot in Mayfair where it’s acceptable to quietly chat away with your date while the team of chefs skin a 13kg trout behind the counter. This place serves excellent sushi without anything feeling like too big of a deal—come here solo and you could even read a book while you wait for an incoming round of spear squid nigiri. Plus, the incredible lunch omakase has 10 pieces of top-tier nigiri, a hand roll, and a dessert for under £100, which is hard to come by in London." - rianne shlebak, jake missing, heidi lauth beasley
