Lou's Cafe

Sandwich shop · Financial District

"Lou’s Cafe is a San Francisco sandwich staple with four locations across the city. Unlike the Richmond and Parkside outposts, the FiDi one mainly caters to office drones searching for seriously good dutch crunch sandwiches on short notice. So when you see the telltale convergence of grey suits ordering slightly-spicy tuna melts, you’re in the right place. Highlights on the never-ending menu are the pastrami and avocado delight (the Ami-Cado) with its perfect salty-to-creamy-to-crispy ratio and the Thanksgiving-forward Turkey Cran. Whatever you do, don’t skip on the house sauce and the jalapeño spread. Most people order and sprint back to their desks, but you can also sit and relax outside at one of the small tables next to the brutalist fountain." - Ricky Rodriguez
