"When La Chiva Colombian Cuisine moved across the street in 2021, it made room for sister restaurant LaTinto Café to start pouring small-batch, Colombian coffee drinks and frying up flakey, often cheesy, guava-filled pastries in its former space. You could go big with traditional Colombian dishes like changua, a Colombian milk and egg breakfast soup, or calentao, a downright feast of rice, beans, fried egg, chorizo, and an arepa, but we suggest making a meal out of the pastries, like the pastel Gloria (guava and caramel-filled puff pastry), pandebono (yuca flour and cheese bread), and cachitos. If you can’t find a seat in the small but bright, plant-filled room, take your order to nearby Platt Park." - Allyson Reedy
