"Summer might technically be over, but it’s always barbecue season in our hearts. Barbara Gene’s Soul Food in Mid-City echoes those sentiments with its multi-regional menu of Texas-style brisket, St. Louis-style pork ribs, and a Southern specialty called a soul roll: mac & cheese, collard greens, and smoked turkey tucked into an egg roll wrapper and fried. We might need a breather after a few soul rolls, and, luckily, Barabra Gene’s has a spacious patio, too. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation
