Orlando Eats (and drinks)
Giordano's
Pizza restaurant · Orlando
There are a few of these scattered about Orlando, and I think they're just great! They serve an array of Italian dishes, but my favorite of all and their main specialty is the delectable Chicago pizzas that they serve. I can guarantee it is fan.tas.tic.
Thai Singha
Permanently Closed
I LOVE this restaurant. A family owned business, Thai Singha was my first exposure to Thai food and remains a favorite. It is quite small and is nestled in a shopping center popular with students from the nearby UCF. I always bring my out-of-town friends here to try their curries.
Orchid Thai Cuisine
Thai restaurant · Winter Park
This place serves some delicious Thai food in a beautiful part of town. One of the richer parts of Orlando, Winter Park is known for its eclectic vibes, from the cobblestone streets to the charming Central Park, which sports a lovely little rose garden and is flanked by shops and restaurants. Orchid lies right in the midst of Historical Winter Park, and doesn't disappoint.
Spice Indian Grill
Indian restaurant · University
Spice Indian Grill serves up the best Indian food on the East side of town. I come back here time and time again for their paneer makhani and naan, which is simply put, addicting.
Pho Hoa Noodle Soup - Orlando
Vietnamese restaurant · Coytown
My older brother took me to this restaurant and we got some great pho here. Definitely a place I will go back to!
The Woods
Permanently Closed
This somewhat hidden bar provides a quiet relief from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Orlando. Although unassuming from the outside, The Woods offers some incredible craft beverages, featuring cocktails of the bartenders' own creation. I particularly enjoyed The Envious Moon.
Mathers Social Gathering
Cocktail bar · Downtown Orlando
This is a fantastic speakeasy with delicious craft beverages, small plates, and occasional live music/entertainment! My friends and I like to grab a drink and write poetry together here. It's a somewhat elegant establishment that makes you feel like you're stepping backwards in time. The vibes are immaculate, although during peak hours the volume can get a little loud.
