Hosteria Grappolo d'oro

Roman restaurant · Parione

Good food in a casual and welcoming atmosphere. Classic Roman dishes like pasta carbonara, Cacio e pepe and amatriciana.

Katie Parla

Boutique Legami

Novelty store · San Eustachio

Largest Rome outpost of this toy/novelty store. Fun for kids to browse around and the pens are especially coveted. But beware that you’ll have a hard time getting out of here without spending some €€

Roman Forum

Open air museum · Campitelli

Another classic landmark in Rome that you can’t miss. Best part is the view from the Palatine Hill. We went late in the day and the crowds weren’t too bad.

Piazza di S. Cosimato

Trastevere

Nice little piazza with a playground. We grabbed some to go lunch from nearby places and ate it while people watching. There was a Friday morning market too. It’s a good place to stop if kids need to run around and play.

Otaleg - Ice-cream

Ice cream shop · Trastevere

Excellent gelato in the Travestere neighborhood. Tasted a pizza flavored gelato but opted for tiramisu, chocolate and hazelnut cones instead.

La Norcineria di Iacozzilli

Deli · Trastevere

Amazing porchetta sandwich at an old school deli with friendly staff. Take a sandwich to go and sit in the Piazza di San Cosimato.

Riccardo Taliani Banqueting

Espresso bar · Monti

Neighborhood bakery for wonderful pastries and coffee. Great place to see the Italia culture of drinking your espresso at the counter.

Colosseum

Historical landmark · Celio

Classic can’t miss highlight of Rome. Book well in advance but if you’re late to the game like we were you can still get a full experience ticket that gives access to the arena floor seven days in advance. Get an early morning ticket to avoid the crowds but expect lots of people regardless.
