The 38 Best Restaurants in Rome, Italy | Eater

"If Roman restaurants have become known for brusque, no-nonsense service, Hosteria Grappolo d’Oro did not get the message. Affable servers circulate through the dining rooms beneath exposed wooden beams, delivering pure versions of cucina romana classics like toothsome tonnarelli cacio e pepe and tender roasted suckling lamb. Best for: The 36 euro, four-course Roman tasting menu is one of Rome’s best deals." - Katie Parla

Grappolo D'oro - Review - Campo de' Fiori - Rome - The Infatuation

"“Another iconic Roman spot in the city center. It’s in between Piazza Navona. I grew up near here because my grandmother had a little apothecary, so I was working there after school. My first kiss was in one of those alleyways in Piazza Navona. It’s the heart of the working class of Rome. Great atmosphere and great food—super mammone. Again, very Roman. [My go-to order is] amatriciana. I love red sauces more than cheesy sauces. Between cacio e pepe and amatriciana, I’d always choose amatriciana. Start with a great glass of red wine. You’re set.” We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Hosteria Grappolo d'Oro

"Since the turn of the century, this long-established restaurant near Piazza Navona and Campo de' Fiori has been run by five local business partners, one of whom is the chef. Top-quality, classic and generous Roman cuisine (cacio e pepe pasta, roast lamb, salted cod etc) is to the fore here, served in an attractive, rustic-style dining room. The background music – a nostalgic 1970s mix of rock and blues – also deserves a mention." - Michelin Inspector

Hosteria Grappolo d’Oro absolutely lives up to its Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition—and then some. The food was exceptional, with every dish delivering on flavor, balance, and presentation. The mix of appetizers was a standout: beautifully varied, thoughtful, and a perfect introduction to the kitchen’s strengths. They were also happy to accommodate small changes off the menu, which added a personal touch to the experience. Service was warm, attentive, and professional, without being overbearing. Altogether, it was the kind of meal that leaves you already planning your return. An easy yes if you’re in Rome.

We saw this place on the Michelin Guide and came to try it out. We booked a reservation pretty far in advance, which I recommend. The service and atmosphere were wonderful! For the food, we chose the option for a tasting menu, where each person can choose from a few items on a set menu for €36 each. While the appetizers were incredible, the rest of the courses were just alright. Maybe a hot take but I felt that the food wasn’t too memorable. Even so, our waiter was amazing and we had a great time!

Google
The most amazing dining experience in Rome! This is such a wonderful little gem and you should go if you have a chance. They only open for reservations a month in advance so be quick. The service was brilliant; friendly, funny and knowledgeable. The food was out of this world -an absolute delight! The interior is quiet chic and understated. We loved every bit of our visit and will come back next time we’re in Rome.

Google
Lovely meal in a beautiful space. Started off with the panzanella and the zucchini parmesan. The panzanella had great flavor but a strange texture. The zucchini was divine - cooked well and very well balanced. Then, we enjoyed the carbonara and the amatriciana. You cannot go wrong with either! They were packed with flavor and the guanciale was to die for. Finally, we had the panna cotta with strawberry compote. A lovely end to a great meal! The restaurant itself is beautiful and lovely but not too loud. Overall, recommend!

We went here after reading recommendations on reddit and it did not disappoint. Prior to opening there was a line for walk-ins. The inside of the restaurant is for people who have made a booking. I tried to do this but it was fully booked. We were seated outside (which is for walk ins) and that was fine. We had the set menu option. The portions are smaller than if you order individual dishes off the menu but you get to try more things this way. I loved the cacio e Pepe!! The best one I’ve had by far!! My husband loved the carbonara. Either way you can’t go wrong! For mains we had the beef cheek and lamb - the lamb was amazing. The beef was also very good but the lamb was the highlight. For dessert was a ricotta mouse with sour cherries - honestly it’s more like a deconstructed cannoli and I LOVED it! Service was great and the servers are friendly. If you’re in a rush, just let them know! If you can’t get into this restaurant, right opposite is their sister restaurant. It has a larger menu and has a lot of the same dishes as this one. Once this restaurant started turning away walk ins, the overflow went there which also filled up very quickly. It’s also a very reasonably priced place.

The kitchen here doesn’t miss. From the first forkful of tonnarelli cacio e pepe, you know you’re in capable hands. Rich without being heavy, sharp with pecorino, assertive with pepper—everything balanced and intentional. Then came the zucchini and sausage pasta, a dish that could be phoned in elsewhere but landed here with confidence. The vegetables were seared, not steamed. The sausage had depth. And the generous snowfall of grated cheese brought it all together without smothering. We paired it with a local Malvasia Puntinata (Cardito)—bright, herbal, slightly floral. A perfect Lazio white to cut through the richness. Dessert? A cool dome of ricotta with a restrained apricot jam and flecks of something green—basil or thyme maybe—enough to keep it from being forgettable. Service was a bit hands-off, even by Roman standards, and I’ve got four trips under my belt to compare. But the place was clearly slammed, and the kitchen still sang. We’ll give them a pass. Michelin Bib Gourmand, Slow Food approved, Gambero Rosso on the wall—they’ve earned their stripes. This place understands what it is and sticks the landing.

Yelp
(Overall: A) - A Michelin Guide restaurant in the center of all the tourist attractions that fills your belly with comforting home-style Roman dishes at a good value! Highly recommend this place to those who are seeking to omit the pretentious fine-dining thrills in favor for good value authentic eats that are just done exceptionally well. (Panzanella: A+) - Beautiful appetizer which turns tomato into a tartare, perfect to pair with bread. The portion is noticeably large, which I think is perfect to share for three! Love the simple garlic, tomato, basil flavor combo as it is something that's proven to work. (Fettuccine Ragu: B) - Add a caveat that I removed the most interesting component being the smoked ricotta, this dish is definitely a highlight for those who are seeking home-style Roman classics. The pork is cooked so tenderly, and works well with black cabbage, and their fresh fettuccine which looks hand cut! Yelp
I was excited to try this place after reading about it in the michelin guide. It's a bib gourmand restaurant and requires a reservation. I was able to snag a time and we were the first ones in when they opened. Half an hour later, the entire restaurant was full. It was tempting to get the tasting menu but instead we ordered the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe (Black pepper and pecorino cheese), lamb and beef along with a glass of wine. The tonnarelli is the most delicious and freshest pasta I have had. The pasta had a nice bite to it along with some cheeses and peppers. The bread and foccaccia were also fresh and the exterior of the bread wasn't painful to eat like it has been for most places in Italy. The meal started off strong, however, it quickly changed. The wine's flavor was too intense. It felt like we were being punched with several grapes with each sip. It didn't go too well with any of the dishes. The lamb came with two pieces, one that was way too dry and the other was too fatty. The beef tasted quite below average. Overall, it was pretty disappointing.

Yelp
This was the most expensive meal in Rome and also the most disappointing. We opted for the tasting menu, which was 36 euro per person, and also a glass of wine. The tasting menu includes an appetizer, pasta, main, and dessert. Service was friendly and quick, however, the food was nothing to write home about. The meal started off good, I enjoyed the trio of traditional starters: panzanella, beef meatball, and baccala. Each of the starters were tasty and I enjoyed trying the local Italian delicacy. The glass of wine was also enjoyable as well. Next were the pasta, we went with the carbonara and rigatoni. I somewhat enjoyed the pastas, but I thought the flavors were a bit lacking and the pasta a bit too undercooked. Compared to the previous night's pasta dishes, it just didn't compare. The main dishes, however, were the most disappointing part of the whole meal. We got the oven roasted lamb and beef cheek. The lamb was a bit too grimy and I just didn't like the taste of it. The beef cheek was mid and the spinach was flavorless. The dessert was nothing special, I didn't finish it. Overall, there are other restaurants in Rome with better food. Although the portions were big, the quality was lacking. If you must go here, forgo the tasting menu and go for the traditional starters and the pastas.

Yelp
My favorite was the pork ragu. The other dishes were pretty decent but the pork ragu really stood out.

Yelp
We scouted Grappolo D'Oro about a month before our trip to Rome. It exceeded the hype. A tasting menu for less than 40 euros pp with incredible apps, pasta, and mains. A curveball we didn't expect? You get a small portion of all three apps listed. The Carbonara and Cacio Pepe were both home runs, plated perfectly and traditionally. The beef cheek was one of the most well done plates of our trip. D'Oro is right, this place is gold.

Yelp
Outstanding traditional Italian eatery! When I first told my Italian friend that I was planning to visit Rome, the first place they recommended was Hosteria Grappolo d'Oro -- this classic spot is located a short walk away from Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, so it's a quick trip from most of the classic Roman tourist destinations. There's a ton of natural light from their giant windows, so it's a great spot to visit during the daytime, especially since they also serve an outstanding three-course lunch set for only 34 euros a person. While a bit pricey for lunch, it's absolutely worth it -- the food is delicious and the portions are sizeable, so you'll leave very full and very happy. The meal starts off with a three-piece appetizer combo made up of small samples of a few traditional Roman dishes. It started off with a super light and refreshing panzanella made with fresh tomatoes and black olives. The tomato was tangy and sweet, which paired wonderfully with the briny, salty, and fatty olives. This finely chopped, almost paste-like salad went wonderfully with their table bread and was a great ode to the summer. The center appetizer, the cod fish mousse, was probably my favorite bite of this course; it was super smooth and light and had a pretty mild flavor but with a slightly fishy, umami undertone. It went great with the bread, but I honestly loved just munching on this on its own. I didn't get a chance to try the last appetizer, as it was a beef meatball and I'm a pescatarian, but my friend really enjoyed hers (and mine). For our primi, both of us got the cacio e pepe. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and it was quite a generous portion. The pecorino romano was a little nutty and salty, and it mixed together with the oil and pasta water to create a rich, velvety sauce that just barely coated the spaghetti. The cracked black pepper offered a much-needed hit of spice to break up the richness of the cheese, and it was, all around a phenomenal dish. We diverged a bit on our secondi; my friend ordered their beef and I got the Roman-style cod. The thinly sliced beef was incredibly tender and had a super flavorful, rich red wine sauce. It came with a few pieces of braised veggies, but it felt like the dish could be made a bit more balanced with a slightly larger side. On the other hand, my Roman-style cod was served with a generous portion of sauteed spinach. It was a smidge too salty, but I loved having a few extra greens. The cod was super flavorful, and I loved the zesty, tangy, slightly sweet tomato and olive sauce. The tomatoes were super fresh, and I loved the slightly briny flavor the olives brought to the dish; it honestly reminded me a lot of the panzanella served with the appetizer, so it was a nice way to make the whole meal feel a bit more cohesive. The cod was, unfortunately, quite overcooked, so it felt a bit rubbery, but it was still tasty and I loved the extra bit of texture from the pine nuts on top. Our dessert was a lovely scoop of mascarpone ice cream topped with a sour cherry and wine sauce. The ice cream was a bit tangy from the mascarpone, and I loved the slight bite from the sauce. It was also served with a small wafer, which was super crispy and reminiscent of an ice cream cone.

Yelp
I saw this place in the Michelin Bib Gourmand guide so I made reservations for a Saturday at 7pm while traveling in Rome. We came right when it opened and it filled up very quickly with people who had made reservations. Our servers were very kind and professional. We started with some white wine which was unfiltered and was delicious! This was my first time having unfiltered wine but I loved how much bolder it tasted. Their menu has several offerings and they all stand out for their incredibly reasonable prices. We opted to do the 4 course prix fixe for 34 euro each (appetizer, primi, secondi, and dessert) which felt like such an amazing deal and gave us a chance to sample many things. We tried: Tris de antipasti tradizionali: the set appetizer consisted of 3 small samples of traditional Roman dishes. The panzanella was a delicious tomato dish which was bright, refreshing, and tasted of tangy/sweet tomatoes and olive oil. This went amazingly with the bread. The cod fish mousse was smooth and at first reminded me of tuna but with a slightly fishier taste. This may have been my least favorite of the 3 although by the end, it definitely grew on me after I had it with bread. Finally the boiled beef meatball was our favorite! This meatball was crispy on the outside but the inside was tender and made of shredded beef which gave it a more smooth texture. The seasoning was perfect and very mild which worked extremely well with the tangy and citrusy green sauce these came over! Reminded me a lot of chimichurri! Super good. Primi: my boyfriend tried the spaghetti alla carbonara which I thought was the best flavor-wise that we had in Rome, it was just the right amount of eggy without being too salty, and had perfectly crispy chunks of guanciale that gave it a little umami punch. However, his pasta was slightly overcooked. I had the tonnarelli cacio e pepe which was delicious! The pasta was perfectly al dente, felt very fresh, the sauce was thick and rich, and the amount of pepper rounded off the dish well. I personally would prefer for this to be slightly less salty but it was still good. The quality of ingredients felt very high. Secondi: for our second plates I tried the Roman style cod fish in tomato sauce, and my boyfriend got the red wine braised beef cheek. My cod was definitely overcooked and very rubbery which was a bummer. However, the tomato sauce was very nice and tangy, with little hints of sweetness from the raisins and nuttiness from the pine nuts. It came with a little side of sautéed veggies that were a little too salty, so I had a great need for water after. My boyfriend's dish was a little better. The beef cheek was incredibly tender, buttery, and just dissolved in your tongue. The red wine sauce was thick, and rich (almost a little too salty and overpowering) but we could tell the preparation of it had been meticulous and involved patience. Overall we were more impressed with the prior dishes than the mains we ordered. Dessert: for dessert we had a delightful ricotta cheese mousse that was creamy and just a tiny bit sweet, with dark chocolate, and orange! The combination was delicious and this dessert was the right amount of light to finish off a very complete meal. We were very full at this point! The tasting menu portions are pretty big (even though they might be slightly smaller than the regular portions) so they can accumulate fast! If you get this, I would not plan on eating anything after. I thought the food here was overall good and thought the prices were unbeatable for the quantity you get! The appetizers and pastas were the highlight of the show for us (especially the sampler trio of Roman appetizers which I highly recommend!). We were not so impressed by the main dishes and definitely found other places to be better. Not sure I would come out of my way to come here again but it was a good experience to have once-- especially because of the lively ambiance and convenient location in the Campo Di Fiori area which was very fun to walk around after.

Yelp
Skip the lines at the nearby restaurants and come here. At least when I came here around 8pm was no line and the other "popular" Instagram restaurants were busy. Also this place has a Michelin Bib while the others do not. Everything was very well prepared, from start to finish. Cacio e peoe was great, and so was the braised beef cheek. Very melty. Pasta was very al dente in classic Roman style. Inside feels very calm and quaint and service was nice as well. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
I loved it but fair warning my 3 friends who got the same thing as me didn't. The lamb was really salty and fairly fatty, which doesn't bother me but could bother others. Same for the carbonara, super salty meat and very creamy / heavy. If you generally don't mind these things, I'd order it otherwise probably skip this place. App trio was my friends' favorites.
google avatar

Ginger J.

Yelp
The preselected four course menu is excellent. Normally I wouldn't go for the house wine, but theirs is better than many bottles that I ordered in Rome and a good value. I like best that locals are there as well and they do not have a huge menu. I would absolutely go back!
google avatar

Yelp
We came to Grappolo d'Oro with reservations and were sat down immediately. Given that we found this spot off the Bib Gourmand guide, it was unsurprisingly busy. That said, our service throughout the whole meal was attentive and speedy. We each opted for the four-course menu. The menu included samples of three different starters, then I opted for the the Rigatoni alla Amatriciana and the Agnello alla romana, and we were all brought the same dessert which was some sort of cream with cookies. I also tried the Guancia di manzo brasata al Cesanese as somebody else at my table ordered it and it looked quite tasty. The starters were definitely my favorite part of the meal, followed by the dessert, the pasta, and the meat. For €34, it was a very large amount of food and many of us could not finish all of the courses. That said, it seemed as though quantity might have been prioritized over quality. Though it was a perfectly acceptable meal, it did not impress us like many of the other Italian meals we had while visiting Rome. The Rigatoni alla Amatriciana was missing any sort of unique robust flavor, the Agnello alla romana was relatively bland and very fatty, and the Guancia di manzo brasata al Cesanese was cooked less than spectacularly (sort of chewy). Overall, our meal at Grappolo d'Oro was perfectly fine, but there was not much to be excited about. Pretty much every other meal we had in Rome was more memorable, so I would encourage others to maybe find a better option.

Yelp
Very solid choice - great pastas, good service, great desserts. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Incredible experience! Delicious food, excellent service and even better house wine! Favorite meal in Rome by far. We had two pasta dishes, tiramisu and a liter of wine for $54. We will be back!

Morgan B.

Yelp
We came here on our last night in Rome and were happy. The dishes didn't seem like traditional Italian as much as others we had gone to, so it was refreshing for a change. We started with some wine and the beef meatballs with green salsa that seemed like a chimichuri. Then, we split two dishes- ravioli with oxtail (delish) and our favorite which were noodles with cream sauce, sausage, and asparagus. We got the cod after to split (which we didn't need), and it was fine. Overall good experience!
google avatar

Beppe C.

Yelp
This lunch was a celebration for us so we decided to have every course, and luckily they offered a tasting menu that had exactly what we wanted: traditional Roman food. The antipasti course was a fixed selection of three starters, Panzanella, boiled beef meatballs and a cod mousse. All three were delicious, but the meatballs were a surprise. The boiled beef is a different consistency than the more common preparation and the added seasonings were fantastic. Our pasta courses were as traditional as it gets, a Rigatoni all'Amatriciana and Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe. The rigatoni was perfectly al dente and the guanciale was nice and crispy. The tonnarelli was a little smaller than a recent version I've eaten, more like the size of a spaghetti, but with a delicious sauce. Our main courses were cod in tomato sauce and roasted lamb. Both were the stars of our meal and I was happy that I didn't find any bones in the cod. For our sides we got some roasted potatoes and a sautéed green, but I'm not certain what that tasty addition was. Looking at the menu, it may have been puntarelle, but this would've been my first time so I can't be sure. To end the fantastic meal, we had a vanilla gelato and a quick espresso, both of which hit the spot!

Yelp
Actual rating 3.5. I was in Campo de' Fiori for my last night in Rome as I was watching the World Cup Finals. This restaurant was situated nearby Campo de' Fiori. Being in such a heavily touristic part of Rome I use stickers as front of the door to see whether a particular restaurant has merit. Seeing many stickers in front of the door gave me some hope about this place. According to the description their focus is on Roman cuisine. I sat outside as the scenery was lovely. It's a little further away from the well-trafficked regions of Campo de' Fiori so I was able to eat my meal in relative peace. This was a relief as the French were still in a frenzy from celebrating their World Cup victory; the French embassy was nearby and those citizens were dancing all over town. I had a simple meal during my last night: Tonnarelli cacio e pepe (Tonnarelli with pecorino cheese and black pepper, €11). By Roman pasta standards this was a good meal as it was filling and topped with a good amount of cheese. I love pasta in general but towards the end of my two-week stint I was developing a bit of pasta fatigue and didn't enjoy my pasta dish as much as I should. I also had a glass of red but my meal was still less than €20. I still would recommend this place but I'll have to come back towards the beginning of my trip when I can appreciate the pasta more.

Yelp
Best local place we have been to in our Italy trip. Thanks to our taxi driver. If you want real Italian food come here!!!!

Sofia F.

Yelp
We loved this place! It's not touristy and the food and service were incredible! We got the amatriciana and the carbonara!

James L.

Yelp
Thought it would be a lot better being on the Michelin guide (no Michelin star though). The food was very slightly above average compared to other local places but not enough to make me want to go back. Give it a try. Avoid cod mousse here, extremely fishy.
google avatar

Dani L.

Yelp
The service was good and the waiters very nice. They did a good job at attending our every need. We ordered the carbonara, pomodoro, and Cacio e Pepe pastas. They were all tasty, but didn't seem that fresh. The sauces were a bit dry. We also ordered the tomato paste, which was fantastic. The meatballs were also very tasty as well. I think the best part was the tiramisu. So creamy and delicious, as well for the mandarine sorbet. I give it three stars because the food wasn't all that out of this world. I do recommend because the prices are great and very reasonable.

Yelp
We had a nice dinner here, enjoying some pastas and wine. The restaurant is in a quieter side street but still good for people watching.

Yelp
One of the great meals in Rome with great service, amazing taste and value for money. When locals are coming in at 1030 and it's still full it must be special Tip: make sure you have a reservation

Yelp
Coming to Rome, we were expecting to eat a different kind of fresh pasta each and every day! This place most definitely had the "wow" factor. Tagliolini with fried artichokes, guanciale, and pecorino. The first bite was unreal. This is why I came to Italy!!! Each bite thereafter, was just as good as the first. Actually, it just got better and better and I was honestly tempted to order another bowl. The guanciale was not overly salty, which made this pasta the most balanced yet. Al dente, perfection! I highly recommend this dish!!!

Yelp
Tasty food, nice service. Lobster was super fresh!!!!!!!! The appetizers were also good too! Don't miss out this place when you visit Roma

Yelp
Heard about this place when we ate across the street from it one night. They told us it's the same owner and since our meal at Ditirambo was so fantastic we tried this place. It didn't disappoint! Everything we ordered was out of this world. The braised beef cheeks in Chianti were flavorful and tender. Cacio e pepe was the best we've had in Rome. The special that night was ravioli with pecorino and oxtail and it was dynamite. Again, not touristy at all. Staff is warm, friendly and make you feel like family.
google avatar

Bill L.

Yelp
This place was recommended by our Vespa tour guide who is a native of Rome and very familiar with the neighborhood. Our hotel said good choice when we asked them to make us reservation. Both of them were right. Fantastic meal sitting outside on the quiet alley location. Well, quiet except for the violin street performer followed by the accordion player. Both were very good. My Negroni wasn't the best ever, but all food was amazing. We almost went back a 2nd night, but if we had I wouldn't be able to right my next review. Fear not. When I return to Rome, I'll probably be back. #pasta

This place is great. Ultimate people watching, young owner serving you, a really amazing daily degustation menu and good wine. It's in the centre of tourist area but there's no need to be nervous. All the pasta looks mouth wateringly good. I had the carbonara and it was amazing. Big chunks of delicious bacon and bright yellow eggy pasta noodles. The ricotta dessert was also light, lemony and delicious especially as I don't love sweets. Yes you'll pay for water but you're in Italy deal with it. They also own the place across the road. This is also a great feed. Do the daily menu. Thank me later.

Yelp
Fantastic, phenomenal pasta. Visited in 2017 and still remember the Cacio e Pepe to this day. Brava

Yelp
Refered by Rosamunda owner, this place is delicious. Nice zesty flavors, fresh and excellent quality. Not a tourist trap yet had dual description in English. Presto! Perfecto!

Yelp
Good food. Friendly service. Tried the meatballs, panzala (like a tartare dish out of tomatoes), carbonara and mozzarella & zucchini dish. Food 3.75 -4.5/5 Value is reasonable. Repeat: not likely. A safe choice on a Sunday evening wen every thing is closed.

Yelp
After a long day of traveling, my travel companion and I ended up in Rome, checked into our AirBnB, and proceeded to seek out sustenance in Campo de'Fiori. For its tourist-centric location, Grappolo d'Oro seemed promising: not too obnoxious, locals having a good time, not too empty and not too crowded, and friendly servers. We grabbed a seat on the patio and quickly received a basket of bread (2 Euros) and menus. On a bit of a whim (and due to our hunger), we went for a pasta dish, rigatoni alla matriciana, and an appetizer, polpette di ricotta e melanzane con salsa di pomodoro e basilica (or as I like to call them, eggplant meatballs). For my first legit Italian experience, I was blown away. The rigatoni was large handmade tube-shaped pasta, thick and truly al dente and not drowning in the rich, thick tomato sauce. Pecorino cheese crumbs were sprinkled over the top and gradually melted over time. And the bacon! Thick, fatty, juicy. The entire combination of starch from pasta, saltiness from the cheese, slight acid from the tomato sauce, and umami from the bacon made for a simple yet rich, delicious dish. This pasta was certainly a far cry from Olive Garden. The eggplant meatballs were another new, delicious experience for me, made with tomatoes, ricotta cheese, and basil. This would be a great dish for vegetable lovers. Because of the overwhelming humidity, we went with a carafe the chilled white house wine. Not the most appropriate pairing for the food, but it certainly paired well with the 90 degree heat. A little too late, we realized they have daily specials (the chalkboard is inside, but we just plopped down outside). Be sure to check those out if you stop by! Bottom line: Grappolo d'Oro is a highly recommended experience overall.

Yelp
Great unique place to eat in Rome. This place is located just off the beaten path in campo do fiori. We ate at Armando al Pantheon the day before and when we couldn't get a reservation back there for dinner, they recommend this place. Food is upscale and a bit more foodie then most of the Roman restaurants we ate in. Service was very good and the meal was delicious. Definitely a good choice for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
I felt rushed and backed in to a corner at every turn by our waiter. He was very pushy, nearly selecting our meals and beverages for us. Early in the evening I requested a bottle of Chianti and he recommended one, then when he came back with it it was a small bottle. Upon seeing this I asked to look at the menu again but he became impatient and just chose a bottle for us. Overall the food was not good and the service was worse.

Yelp
The meat is not worth ordering. Delicious tomato tartar type dish served with meatballs (as an appetizer). The rigatoni was well cooked and al dente.

Yelp
Great restaurant. The food was excellent. The waiters spoke English and it was reasonably priced. It was my favorite meal in Rome.

Yelp
Bright inviting interior design inside, and excellent food that is a bit more unusual than other restaurants in this touristy area. Appetizers in particular were quite interesting and well presented. We felt right at home with the atmosphere and thoughtful menu - not dissimilar from farm-to-table type places in the Bay Area.

Yelp
Excellent spaghetti carbonara. Other plates were delicious as well. Atmosphere was pleasant and service was good. Just around the corner from the Campo di Fiori square.

Yelp
This was one of our stops on our Foodies in Rome tour with the fabulous Dominique. The food was authentic, fresh and delicious. The wines were excellent. I highly recommend if you want a slow food experience while in Rome.

Yelp
I've been to Italy many times, and this place never disappoints! The pastas are tasty (my husband had the ravioli tonight) and the fish dishes are delightful (I've had the cod and the sea bass on this trip - both delicious). They also have wonderful salads and a great wine list. The service is always warm and friendly. Tonight we all laughed at an American baby who kissed an Italian baby through the window. It was precious, and all the staff were laughing along. I can't recommend them highly enough!! We go at least twice on every trip!

Yelp
Nicer restaurant amid many that seem to attract a more touristy clientele. Decor is modern but comfortable. Servers were knowledgeable and friendly. We all had the fixed price meal, which was very good. Menu offered several more interesting choices including a delicious octopus salad special. Good choice for traditional Roman fare with a little bit of a modern twist. Also a slow food choice.

Yelp
Great food and drink at very reasonable prices. Fairly small restaurant with outside seating. Service was very friendly. All of the food was great, espically the pastas. Would certainly reccomend and will go back next time in Rome.

Yelp
The highly recommended restaurant across the street Ditirambo had a 30 minute wait inside and indefinite outside. We opted to go across the street and are glad we did. They have basic outside seating and the restaurant is very nice inside. Started with a shaved fennel salad w sun dried tomatoes, olives peppers with good focaccia on the side. Excellent. We had the pappardelle w pesto and tomatoes and the linguini w fava, peas and asparagus. Both wee prepared. Great selection of reasonably priced wines.
