The 7 Best Hostels in San Francisco (Updated 2025)

"I found the Downtown HI to be a fun, social hostel that organizes lots of events (pub crawls, trips to nearby Muir Woods and Yosemite, and bike tours across the Golden Gate Bridge). The beds are decent though there are no privacy curtains, but there’s lots of storage so you can lock your stuff up, a fully equipped kitchen, plenty of board games, wheelchair accessibility, fast Wi‑Fi, and large private rooms." - Matthew Kepnes
