Where to Stay in San Francisco When You Visit (2025)

"This is a great hostel with lots of common areas, a huge fully equipped guest kitchen, free breakfast, and even a small movie theater; it’s always kept clean and tidy and the staff organizes many free events (bike tours, museum tours, pub crawls), which makes it easy to meet other travelers. The beds aren’t anything special—the mattresses are thin and there are no privacy curtains or individual outlets—but there are female-only dorms and an on-site café with reasonable prices." - Matthew Kepnes
