"Hackney City Farm, London Fields Broadway Market. For over 20 years, Hackney City Farm has been giving the local community the opportunity to experience farming right in the heart of the city. You can get up close and personal with a range of farmyard animals; see, smell and plant vegetables and other food plants; and learn new skills to live a healthier, happier life with a lower environmental impact. It isn't all about the animals though. Wednesday and Thursday night pottery classes are now massively popular (probably helped by the BYOB policy) and you can also take part in mosaic or woodcraft workshops. There is also a delicious cafe called Frizzante which serves rustic Italian food and uses ingredients fresh from the farm - where this isn't possible, they endeavour to source as locally and as independently as possible. Your donations are welcome as they keep this wonderful place going."
