"239 The High Street, Portobello by Sarah Wardlaw. As you step into 239 The High Street, you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in a shop in the Scottish Islands that specialised in Harris Tweed. As much tweed as there is, John Paul, the owner, also sells gifts for the whole family. 239 stocks footwear, homewares, bags, hats, local chocolates, lots of tweed, and much more. And, perhaps best of all, if you visit on a Saturday you’ll probably be offered free cake! John Paul was a baker in his previous life, and he still creates delicious baked goods to happily hand out to customers.Fancy browsing the goods but can’t make it to the shop? 239 has an online shop too, with all products available on their website."
