"Moosewood, Downtown Ithaca. In case you didn't know, Moosewood was named one of the thirteen most influential restaurants of the 20th century by Bon Appetit magazine, and it's easy to see why. A collectively owned restaurant and business with 40 years of creating delicious vegetarian fare, and with 13 cookbooks under their belt as well, they single-handedly (multi-handedly?) shaped the landscape of vegetarian cooking for generations. The restaurant is what you might expect from an icon: clean, simple, and well-lit, with local artists' works gracing the walls in a constantly evolving display. The food is delicious, even if you aren't a vegetarian, and they have expanded into vegan and gluten-free. Everything is a la carte. Their soups are amazing. Amazing. Buy the cookbook amazing."
