"Matteo's, West La. There are countless Italian restaurants around the world with photos of Frank Sinatra and the rest of the rat pack adorning their walls. They do this to add a bit of atmosphere and authenticity to their establishment. Although you’ll find several such photos adorning the Old Hollywood walls of Matteo’s, the difference here is that this restaurant is one of the very few still in business today that Frank Sinatra and the rest of the Rat Pack called home. Originally opened in 1963 by Sinatra’s childhood friend from Hoboken, Matty Jordan, Sinatra made it an instant hotspot, regularly dining there on Sunday nights. Hollywood A-listers and US Presidents have been dining here ever since, and although Matty died back in 1999, Matteo’s continues to offer delicious, authentic Italian food in a classic, elegant setting that still exudes the unmistakable spirit of Old Hollywood royalty."
