Set within City Centre Bahrain near Manama’s Water Garden City, this upcoming two-level food hall will seat around 900 people and aims to showcase the best of the local area through 11 kitchens, two bars, a dessert counter, a coffee shop, an exhibition space, a stage and an al fresco rooftop. The team curates the line-up by identifying the most integral cuisines to the city and then seeking out the most talented local chefs, bartenders and baristas to represent each one, resulting in a mix of much-loved local names and up-and-coming talent. The first confirmed kitchens include modern Middle Eastern cuisine from Villa Mamas by Roaya Saleh, exquisite Japanese dishes from By Mirai, contemporary Lebanese food from Ô Liban, and food from Banu, described as one of the best Iranian restaurants in Bahrain, with artisanal sorbets from Florencia Ice Cream for dessert. According to general manager Ian Russell, the market will feature an especially strong roster of female chefs and restaurateurs and is set to have the highest share of top female culinary talents of any Time Out Market worldwide. - Liv Kelly
