Granted, the Gaelic-speaking village of Barna is a small one, and the hotel’s primary selling point is its location on the Wild Atlantic Way, with easy access to the outdoors — the hotel’s name refers to the Twelve Bens, a series of mountain peaks in nearby Connemara National Park, but there’s an urban edge to its modern interiors. Rooms feature sultry mood lighting, polished parquet floors, and spacious bathrooms stocked with organic products, while suites have Jacuzzis and record players with vinyl collections.
